African Things produced a premium batch of 1,200 custom conference backpacks for the World Conference of Banking Institutes (WCBI), hosted by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) for the 22nd World Conference of Banking Institutes held in Lagos. The project combined durable, everyday backpack construction with vibrant Ankara fabric accents and fine embroidered branding, delivering a conference souvenir that reflected both professional prestige and authentic African design.
Each backpack was manufactured with a sturdy black base, featuring a spacious main compartment, side mesh pockets, and a padded top carry handle for comfortable everyday use. A standout design element was the bold green-and-gold Ankara fabric panel across the top of the bag and lining the inside of the shoulder straps, giving each bag a distinctive, culturally rich finish that set it apart from a standard corporate giveaway. Reinforced stitching and quality zippers ensured the bags could handle daily use by conference delegates well after the event.
A key feature of the project was the finely embroidered branding stitched prominently onto the front panel of each bag. The design featured the WCBI globe emblem with its signature banner, the CIBN institutional crest, and clear embroidered text detailing the "22nd World Conference of Banking Institutes, April 24–28, 2017, Lagos Nigeria."
